Outline
Establishment of modern housing market in Ukraine - is one of the most important tasks to be carried out that would undoubtedly contribute to higher living standards and overall economic efficiency. Usually, transition countries lack deliberate and thorough strategy for housing market development, and often introduce progressive instruments denying so called "building societies" stage. The round table on infrastructure for contractual savings schemes for housing (CSH) continues the previous discussion initiated by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting on housing finance in Ukraine. During the round table Dr. Friedemann Roy, expert from the Association of Private Bausparkassen (Germany), presented a model for CSH in Ukraine. Representatives of National Bank of Ukraine, Association of Ukrainian Banks, commercial banks, ministries, and parliament committees participated in the discussion.
